Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, the first manned mission to land on the Moon, Mission to TensorFlow World is TensorFlow’s latest space game experience that leverages the entire product ecosystem: TensorFlow Core, TensorFlow.js, TensorFlow Lite, and TensorFlow Extended (TFX) to control a spacecraft traveling through space. Each station uses different versions of TensorFlow on different platforms to power mini demos that influence a central visualization.

Pose Shield (TensorFlow.js)

On its Mission to TensorFlow World, the spacecraft must pass through a dangerous asteroid field. Using PoseNet and TensorFlow.js, you can enable and disable shield emitters around the periphery of a spacecraft using your arms attempting to block incoming asteroids. Are you quick enough and accurate enough to save the ship from damage? Play the game at g.co/PoseShield.

Emojicules (TensorFlow Lite)

Mechanical failures are inevitable on any space journey, and, unfortunately, the spacecraft has experienced a loss of cabin pressure. Using Emotion Classification and TensorFlow Lite, you must match your facial expression to emoji faces — representing the molecules that make up breathable air (Nitrogen, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and Argon) — to capture those molecules and repressurize the cabin. Repo coming soon!

Startographer (TensorFlow Core, TFX)

As the spacecraft enters new star systems on its Mission to TensorFlow World, charting the most direct course is challenging. Using XLNet and TensorFlow Core, planets are assigned conceptual phrases that must be matched with a synonym in order to pass. Startographer begins with a short animation describing the purpose and usage of TFX as a critical validation tool for any TensorFlow implementation. Within the gameplay itself, a TFX calibration animation displays a new planet group referencing TFX’s ability to identify and discard bad data. How many star systems can you travel through before time runs out? Repo coming soon!

For those who will be at TensorFlow world, we will see you soon! For those who can’t make it, be sure to watch the livestream on Wednesday (10/30).
